Hi, I am Kate and I am the one woman band behind kids label Pip’n’Pop. Currently based in Fremantle, Western Australia, I have been creating things for little ones since 2010. I started sewing not long after my oldest son was born when my partner gifted me a sewing machine for my birthday.  It should be said that this was part birthday present, part guilt present as he jetted off overseas for an 8 week fellowship leaving me with a six week old baby, but that is a story for another day…………….

When I started sewing it was largely because amongst all of the wonderful things we were gifted, I saw a trend for all things dinosaur and car related and I found myself thinking, there must be more to boy’s clothes than that! From the humble desire to create things a little bit different for my children, Pip’n’Pop was born and has slowly grown to include an organic range, vibrant and unique cot linen and colourful room décor.    

My aim in creating is to ensure that your child will be wearing or sleeping under something unique, playful, funky and always practical! The clothes I make are for the rollers, the crawlers, the toddlers, the walkers and the runners. Kid’s clothes can be beautiful, playful, fun and vibrant but above all I believe they should be practical and comfortable. They should be made for play!
